I found myself on Friday afternoon rummaging through the cabinets desperately searching for something sweet. I do this often when I'm stressed. I try to solve whatever is bothering me with food. It's not healthy, both emotionally and physically but I do it anyway. Because I won't give it up. I won't hand over everything to God. In the Bible it says to cast your cares on him because he cares for you. God cares about our lives and everything that goes on in it. Sometimes I think I fail to realize just how much he truly cares for us. I tell myself why bother praying about, it won't do anything about anyway. I tell myself that my seeming unanswered prayers are proof of that. When really it's God telling me no. I'm not good with the word no. However God needs to tell me no sometimes. He sees the big picture. He knows what's best for me. And though at the time his answer may not make sense it's him protecting me from what isn't his best. If you've been in church all your life you've heard this answer. It's seems like cookie cutter advice you get from everyone. In fact it may not be encouraging. I know how you feel. But know that God really is in your best interest. He wants the best and sometimes it takes hard times to bring about good times. Hard times make you grow. It makes you dig down deep inside yourself and ask what you believe. So hand it over. Give him all your baggage, insecurities, fears, and struggles. Let it go. Don't let it hold you captive anymore. Trust God with everything. If you gave your life to him then handing over whatever it is your struggling with should be the next step. So let it go. Hand over everything and trust him even when it doesn't make sense. He'll pull through; he always does.
